About

RED TURTLE AND THE PLANT SPIRITS

is located in Portland, Oregon and was started in 2014 by Liz Earnhart, an herbalist and registered nurse. It is the coming together of Liz’s life long love affair with plants and her decades-long career in the healing profession.

Liz has been working as an RN in the hospital setting since 1987. For 20 years she cared for critically ill children and newborn babies in ICU and air/ ground ambulance settings. Since 2007 she has worked in a large metropolitan emergency department, caring for both adults and children. In this setting, she has become increasingly familiar and dissatisfied with the conventional pharmaceutical approach to the many chronic, inflammatory illnesses that plague our society and the lack of true healing that is usually achieved. Called by the plants, she set out to learn a more natural way – the way of using plant remedies, food and life style changes to bring healing and restoration of balance to the ailing body.

Red Turtle and the Plant Spirits operates with the basic philosophy that plants do not heal us. Rather, plants remind us how to heal ourselves by reorienting us toward our own natural state of being. Plants are our allies and friends, not strong-arming bullies like many of the pharmaceutical chemicals. This means that using herbal medicine may not produce fast, sudden results. It very likely will require time and considerable participation on our part. We might be asked to change our diet, exercise more, sleep more, watch less TV and transition away from all manner of other unhelpful habits toward a more sustaining lifestyle. We might need to visit a therapist or learn how to meditate. Through it all, the plants will be there to support us.

Liz passionately believes in our bodies’ innate ability to heal itself from many chronic imbalances. Toward this goal she offers you high quality, organic herbal remedies, private herbal consultations and carefully curated holistic health education. Begin your journey toward wellness today!
